: How much is my wreck worth and how to get rid of it?

Greetings, first post here on these boards. Wish it were under better circumstances.

To make a long story short, I owe about 16k on a 1999 C5 Corvette which was recently in an accident. Due to legal matters it is unlikely that my insurance is going to cover this, which leaves me with a fairly large bank loan and a Corvette which probably needs to be sold for parts.

The overall condition for all the body parts is fine, I am sure most of the engine is fines as well, except right under the nose. It was high centered on a concrete curb so there may be some damage to the undercarriage up front, but not past the front tires and assembly. Outside of that is it essentially an entire car in impeccable condition.

I am just looking for options right now on how to best take care of what I owe the bank and try to recoup some of my loss. Does anyone have any ideas on what a wrecked corvette like this might be worth? Any ideas on what to do with this thing other than stick it in my driveway? I need to get rid of it as soon as it is returned to me so I am looking for options and guesstimates or estimates of what I might be able to get for this (used to be) great car.

I do not have any pictures yet of the "After" as it is still at the wrecker's yard, I'll try to get some soon. However my gallery shows what it looked like a few weeks "Before" the accident. Any help in the mean time is appreciated.

Here are the "Before" pictures (http://www.smokinvette.com/corvettephotos/showgallery.php/cat/551)

The "After" pictures will come soon, and will be linked here.

So sorry to hear about this. Your best bet is going to just see what you are working with when you get the car back. Strip it down and sell what you can. Best I can say to you.

Well that is sort of a problem. I would not know where to begin with that process. Not to mention my condo association will never allow me to part out a vehicle in my designated parking spot :)

Is there such thing as a service that would do this for me? My guess is no.

Will the bank let you sell it? Is the loan is on it.

Also where is it.

No I do not think that they would. I am going to have to pay it off first, then look for a way to try to gain some of that loss back.

It is in South Florida. West Palm Beach area.

Sorry for your loss. :( There are companies that part out these cars that you might beable to work with. That would be a good starting point for you to look at. Good luck!

You should take an inventory list of all that wasn't damaged, perhaps some photos and post them here?

:iagree: Put everything in excel and "what you want" price next to each so you can tally up everything and see how close you can get to the $16k your after. Good luck!

I would be willing to assist you getting this thing parted out. Usually we're in the fabrication business but I may be interested in some of the parts and I'd be willing to strip and sell the rest for you...or atleast look at the pics of the wreck and help you decide if making a "part out" move is what you need to do. We probably need to have a phone conversation.

Pull my contact info off of www.bbqvette.com and call me.

Not to change subject, but how in the hell is that BBQ fastened to your truck? That is so cool!
