Installed a new msd distributor on my 93 LT1 and now I'm getting no spark from the coil. It's also logging a failed start error code 41. It was firing ok prior to the installation. What's the odds of getting a bad distributor? Even if I had got the distributor as much as 180 out I should still get spark somewhere shouldn't I?

well it sounds like the distbutor isnt alined right.theres a specail pin drive tool that alines the distributor with the camshaft for correct timeing and if its loose or not on tight enough it wont work.i had the same problem with my LT-1 when installed my distributor.so take it off again and bolt it down tighter and use the pin drive tool to aline the distributor rotor to the camshaft...good luck and tell me how it goes

oh and dont forget to replace the water pump gaskets with new ones cause a leaking water pump gasket is the number one cause of distributor failuar
