So the weather finaly breaks and I say hey I am going to take the cover off my C5 and go for a quik drive. Well, Get in sit down and then all I get is a loud clicking noise. My gut tells me it is the battery. I also here a winding noise inside sounding like it is coming from under the jocky box. Any Ideas??? :wtf:

And What does it do?I use a ctek on my yellow top optima and have never had a problem, if your car will be sitting 2 weeks or more due to all the computers it houses you will need this! otherwise you will be purchasing a new battery AGAIN

Not necessarily uncommon especially over time with GM or any battery outside of an Optima. Probably just a battery issue. Over time the battery looses its capacitance for charge due a great many factors; deep cycling, heavy accessory use, inclimate or changing weather or temperatures. That clicking sound/whirling noise is the starter/starter solenoid attempting to engage the flywheel. Another contributing factor to premature battery failure is an alternator that is no longer functioning properly i.e. charging the battery while running. Maybe something to check when replacing your battery. Hope this helps a bit. Best of luck.
