I am going to replace my front brake pads on my 94 and looking for some input please. I have done brakes on other cars and it was pretty easy to do. I heard that with corvette's you can't use a C clamp to close the caliper pistions. Looking to hear how other people done them and if any tricks or things to look for.

Thank you,
Gary

I believe my 92' s are not too different from the 94' s. This is quite a simple job, as for the part on not being able to use C-Clamps on Corvettes, I have never heard this nor I know much of it. Hopefully someone will help you out on that.

Check out this topic too, it may help you or give you some tips, http://www.smokinvette.com/corvetteforum/showthread.php?t=41107

Don't know if you've done this or not yet, I see you posted on 6/30. Anyway I have used C clamps on the calipers on my 88 and never had a problem, don't see why you can't also. Check around tho, someone may have more info for you.

I just use a good size flat head screw driver on them before I remove the caliper...

I always bleed the brakes when I change pads its really easy with the speed bleeders and only 30 extra minutes if that. It's also piece of mind knowing that I have clean fluids in the car.
