When I get into my car here lately it has a hard time starting:wtf: . It will not turn over unless you hold the key over for about 2secs:thud: . Almost like the battery is dead. I have also noticed the lights will sometimes dim for a breif second while driving. Do you think I have a bad starter. My car is a 99 FRC with 74000 mi.:confused:

First I would check for loose wiring to the battery, grounds, alternator, or starter.
Then I would get the battery tested.
If it's OK then test the alternator.
If neither are the culprit, then test the starter.

It could also very well be your key ignition that has gone bad and takes a few seconds to register that the key has been put in. Just check everything!
