This is a manual sliding plate stealth hide away plate apparatus.

The thing of it is on a Z or the C6 that has the front splitter installed low. you cannot install most of the aftermarket plate holders...

So i took an idea from a friend and installed it right up front. you can see that the upper vertical support for the grill has to go

Thats pretty cool, and I'm sure theres a reason why you did that.

May I chance sounding stupid and ask what is the point of hiding your front license plate?

^^ most sport car owners all makes despise front plates...they screw up the lines of the car.....thats me included.

Trucks and SUVs dont make too much difference asthetically

You're not sounding stupid. It is a matter of taste. I don't like having a plate on the front of my Corvette's, because it dose take away from the styling of the whole car. Anytime you see a European sports car with a plate on the front, it looks so out of place, and the same for a Corvette.

Great idea. Front plates really mess up the lines. Is this available on the market?

I got it off fleabay and can find the reference if you are interested. a company on one of the corvette forums makes a motorized hand clicker retractable device. course mine is manual. the motorized one is about $130, manual is about half that
