I got a buddy that can get me a deal on his unused 4"x6" Polk Audio (DB461p) that I want to use for the front dash speakers. I popped off the cover over the weekend and saw that mine are probably original, and completely dried up, cracked and done for. Looks like sun damage. I will eventually complete the system by finding something new for the rear speakers, just wanted to get these started in the mean time.

I trust him, and like I said, kinda getting the pair of them for a steal. Anyone know if they will fit without having to modify the front dash? And will it require a new amp?

2" mounting depth on the bottom, 120w peak and 40w continuous. I have a book of the component specs if anyone needs more info.

Yes, dash speakers are 4"x6". You will not need any modification and you will not need a new amp. I would recommend buying a full set and replacing all of them. The door speakers are 6 1/2" and the rear speakers are 6"x9".

Man ... how did I forget about the door speakers ... thanks for the reminder.

I was reading about some sort of complication with the size of the 6x9s. Something about different sizes back then

The stock speakers were not the standard size speakers. They were always off by a little bit. The opening is large enough though. Most speakers have oval shaped mounting holes so that the position can be adjusted. They should fit in there ok. If not, they may need a little adjusting. Post up if you have any problems.

No problem man. As said before, the sizes are not exactly standard but standard sized speakers will fit with minimal adjustment.
