My '71 has old and brittle wiring throughout, I have ordered a forward engine harness from Ecklers and want to know just how difficult one of these things are to install by ones self. I would like to progressively change out all of the wires eventually. I have also ordered the corresponding wiring diagram as well. Any weigh in would be appreciated, Thanks

before you start yanking the old harness out, take some pics and familiarize yourself with where everything runs. Its easier if you do, and you wont have anything rubbing on something it shouldn t...good luck ,

The forward harness is probably the easiest one to change. Unroll the new one, get all the kinks and twists out of it first. Lay it on the car from the base of the windshield to the front and then across from left to right. As you unplug the old harness, find the corresponding plug/wire color, and plug it right back in. I'd start at the firewall and work forward and then across. Old harness out and new one in, one step at a time.
_ And disconnect the battery-!!
