now my drivers side rear wheel bearing is sounding kinda "crunchy" as it rolls...guess i gotta do it myself ( as usual ) because our local "corvette specialist" shop ( it rhymes with 'schmucks corvette clinic'...just think the nickname for charles instead. ) wants $850.00 per side if i take the control arms off and bring em in, or $1200.00 per side if i drive it in / drive it out.....ummm.......NOPE! so i ordered all the tools ( spindle knocker,shock knocker, and bearing set up tool ) and both side bearing kits from riks corvette parts for less than $225.00 including shipping. should come in tuesday or wednesday ( i hope ! ), its been 15 years since i did the last ones--im sure ill remember what im doing along the way, hah hah...wish me luck guys, its gonna be a b*tch ! :stupid:

Its really not that bad..a slide hammer makes it easy to pop the spindle out..just need to check end play, no more than .006..mock up dry first, then when you get it shimmed right, pack the hi-temp grease and torque 100ftlbs. Every shop acts like its brain surgery, ,its not.

I just found a place here locally Corvette Clinic the guy said he charges $350.00 per side including parts and labor.
