This is our most popular Tunnel Plate. A full 1/4" thick 6061-T6 aluminum with double the heat protection.
First we coat our Tunnel Plates with a specially engineered ceramic coating. Originally designed to add stiffness to the C5 and C6 chassis, remarkably this ceramic coated plate alone has shown temperature-reducing qualities of 44F degrees on the C5 and 29F degrees on the C6 when compared to the stock tunnel plates.
To further reduce the radiated heat, we permanently bond our Original “Thermal-Abs” shielding to the underside of our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates. The result is extraordinary.
With the combined Ceramic Coated Tunnel Plate AND Thermal-Abs, we were consistently dropping the temperatures at the central tunnel by as much as 75 degrees on a C5 and 34 degrees on a C6 when compared to the stock OEM tunnel plates.
This is the best of both worlds. All the stiffening benefits that made our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates a popular mod. and now unparalleled heat shielding with our “Thermal-Abs”.
