When I get on the vette and it climbs up to the high rpms I hear a faint ticking noise at about the last 500 to 700 rpms. Is this something that I should be worried about or is it just the build up from the substandard gas? Thank you. Joe.

The ticking could be either valve train noise or spark pinging. If it has done this on a regular basis it could be too much spark advance (pinging). If it's recent there is something going on that is not normal. The way to tell for sure is to use a scan tool, run it on a chassis dyno, and/or have someone with HP Tuners log the car and see what is going on.

Do you have any modifications to the car engine wise?

It does sound interesting, I would say that it was the valves also but I agree with DTS in that the only way that you will know for sure is get it to a pro and have them dyno it. Good luck with it!

Bring it to a shop or get someone to look at the tune, I am sure that whatever it is it will be seen in the tune and can probably be cured with a custom tune and that may also help with other areas that you may not have noticed any big changes... just my .02 cents

I would think that it is your fuel injectors that are firing off, or bad gas, or spark issues, or valves, or.......well just take somewheres and have someone check it out!!!
