Went to a friends son high school grad party and took the vette. I parked the car and got out and this 10 year old comes running out of a unrelated house and starts taking pictures of my car. He says it's his dream car so I grabbed the camera from him opened the door and told him to take a seat so I can take a pic of him. Then I started the car and the corsa exhausts came alive and told him to rev the engine. I then told him to look in the engine bay and look at AMERICAN MUSCLE! Also told him that after I eat I'll take him for a ride which I did and then gave him my hat for the car and told him that I once had the same dream and sometimes it takes a while to get one. I never asked his name. Now I know why I love this car!!!:patriot:

Now that is a great story. Thanks for giving a kid some attention and sharing your enthusiasm of Vettes with a child. Something good will come of of what you have done. I wish more adults would do similiar thing for kids.

My hat is off to you.

:thumbsup3:

I make it a point to offer the young ones a chance to sit in the car at any show I attend.

Just recently I was coming home from a Corvette run to Monterey. We stopped for lunch at the Giant Artichoke in Castroville. Of coarse I parked my shiny Vette in the shade at the far end if the parking lot. After lunch we were back out at the Vette with the lambo doors up and I see an SUV kind-uv make an ill eagle U-turn, but not in a dangerous manner. They make their way back to the nice trees I'm under and stop on the roadside of the shade.A teenage girl in nice Sunday dress gets out and in broken English asks if her brother could "get the car". The wife calls me from a couple cars away and I go over to see what she wants. I've been working on Spanish so I give it a whirl and find out that 'sis' would like to take a picture of brother (maybe 9 ) with the car. Now these kids are nicely dressed and well mannered. So are their folks in the car just right there. I think it is an acceptable circumstance and say "Sure". Well, the boy jumps in the drivers seat with both doors up with a grin as big as that! We had to tell him to "put both feet inside and hold on to the steering wheel so you look like your driven it!" After that I took their camera and got a couple family shots in front of the Vette. You know that kid was gonna show all his friends that one. What do you want to bet he will grow up to be a Corvette owner?

Dang that felt good.

Outstanding! It's always good to hear that there are still some good people in the world. A lot of people would have acted like snobs. :goodpost:

I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone with my thinking about the human race. :thumbsup3:

I had a similar experience and it's a great feeling indeed.
We must promote Corvette at every opportunity, especially to the young generation.
They're constantly bombarded with advertising that suggest import cars are better.
We can't continue to allow this one sided view.
American made IS better, and Corvette is the finest American sports car, bar none!
I'm still living the dream that started for me 50 years ago!....:patriot:
