Trying to see if anybody else has had this problem with their corvette. I have replaced all the power steering parts on my 1969 427 corvette. You can steer the car when the engine is off, but when the car is runing the steering wheel turning back and forth very fast. After you shut the car off the car is very hard to steer. I have bleded the system and replaced pump Twice. Not sure what else to do , just need some advice on what might be the problem. Thanks Earl

There was a thread on one of these forums. They warned that if the hoses were installed in reverse order on the power steering slave unit thet what you are experiencing will happen. So reverse the connections on the slave cylinder. Try searching this forum as there was a excellent explanation with pictures.

Thanks for the help with the power steering problem. You were right on the money, with the the hoses being crossed. Even though they looked correct as in the pictures I had seen, they were indeed crossed. Thats what happens when you take stuff apart and forget where everything goes back after a couple of months:thumbsup3: !
