I am having an issue with my 1985 Corvette cranking consistantly. I may go out to the garage and it crank up perfectly one day and go out the next and all it will do is turn over and over like it isn't getting any fuel. I have done everything I know to do and would like any some suggestions if anyone has any ideas as to what the problem could be.

Has it had a tune up? If you suspect fuel, stick a fuel pressure gauge on the rail, turn the key on, engine off, and see if the pressure is holding in the line. Should be over 40 psi and hold. Let us know what you find out.

Are you sure it's getting proper spark?

Like is mentioned, start with the basics.
Fuel pressure, spark, see what you have.
Pull a plug, is it getting wet?
Need more info.

Same as Robs 1988 says, hook fuel pressure gauge at rail. Turn key to on, and see what pressure u got, then see if it holds with pump off. But u said u have to crank for a while. If pressure is just bleeding down, it still should start after a bunch of cranks, until pressure builds. But yeah start with that. And go from there.
