Just got back from tire store, i was having my wheels and new tires installed, wheels are the black z06 motorsports from corvette central, tires are michillen pilot sports, the problem is as the tech backed my car out of the stall the ABS light and traction light were on and the DIC message displayed service engine soon, also the rear tire pressures will not read in the message center, the fronts however are normal. I watched the entire install process from behind the bay all these guys did was remove old tires and wheels, and install new ones, i am at a loss for what could have happend to these systems just by replaceing wheels. Any help from anybody would be great, i have a generic code reader, but it was no help with this. :confused: :confused:

Try re-programming your rear TPS transmitters with a magnet... are you getting XXX ?

Not sure what the deal is with all the other stuff, did they disconnect the battery? Read your codes from the DIC and write down the "C" codes, reset all of em and see if any of those codes set again...

Exactly what I would have told you to do. Try and get your codes read ( if you have any) and see what that says. Let us know what the problem was.

If you have a programmer use it to check the codes, if not you should be able to get them checked for free at Autozone.

Yes it is!!! Did I understand you correctly that you replaced the rear tire TPS units????

Here's a Bulletin sent out by GM that may be relevent;

"Wheel Pressure Sensors Unable to be Reprogrammed After Tire Replacement
1997-2001 Chevrolet Corvette
Some dealers may find it difficult to reprogram the wheel mounted air pressure sensors on vehicles which have replacement tires installed. If this is the case, verify the brand and model of the tires. One tire that is known to cause this condition is the Goodyear® Eagle™ F-1. The Goodyear® Eagle™ F-1 uses a unique "all-steel" case construction. The sidewall reinforcement, as well as the tread belts, are made from a woven steel strand material. The presence of this material may cause degradation of the signals generated by the wheel mounted sensors. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement tires must have Goodyear® Eagle™ F-1 GS EMT molded into the sidewall of the tire. If the tire does not have the GS designation, it is an all steel construction Goodyear® Eagle™ F-1 tire.
This type of interference may not be limited to the Goodyear® Eagle™ F-1 tire. As other manufacturers produce replacements for the Corvette, the individual peculiarities of those tires cannot be predicted. Using OEM replacement tires as identified above is the customer's best assurance of trouble free performance."

Here's the procedure from the book;

Make sure the vehicle has been stationary for at least 2 minutes before attempting to program the TPM sensors.

Turn the ignition to ON.
Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.
Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin the programming sequence.
Install the J 41760 J 41760 (http://127.0.0.1:9001/servlets/RetrieveTif?pic=65692) over the left front valve stem.
The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed by the IPC messages:

LEARN R FRONT TIRE
LEARN R REAR TIRE
LEARN L REAR TIRE

thanks for all you guys input!!!:cheers: the latest is on way home last night for half trip abs light and tcs light still not back on, (i cleared codes) pulled into a parking lot over a rough surface BAM lights back on me pissed. still not able to get readings on rear tps, fronts are normal after driving the blank display will rear XXX, checked code 1255 appears it could be the EBCM????? if so this sounds expensive, spoke to a local LS guy states this could also be causing rear tps not to read. going to keep plugging along cant sleep at night since this happend, my vettes are like my children:wtf:
