Any ideas on how to modify the glovebox lid to open more than 1/8 (45 degrees) of the way? I realize it was designed to not open too far so that it would not hid the brake lever, but it can be a hassle to access. Any suggestions are appreciated.
The padded, center arm rest on my '99 only opens about 45 degrees. Chevrolet probably learned that it was not a good design and corrected the problem on newer vettes

I'm a little confused. Did you mean the center console lid (padded arm rest)? And does 1/4 of the way mean 90 degrees open?

I'll be modifying mine soon to eliminate that hard tug needed to open it, I'll post a bunch of pics if I can see what's being used to limit the swing... I re-located my fuel door switch for this exact reason!

I don't really understand what you are all talking about but I will wait and see what Tstar does and then maybe I will understand. LOL

By the way, nice Z06 - cool color and rims.

My '00 opens 90 deg. so it must be the older ones.

I just learned that if you pull up on the lid it will release and open all the way! It's a double hinge system. Learn something new everyday!

Tim, when I read your thread I was skeptical, but it turns out you were right! I actually had to reach my hand in and pull on the smaller hinge to get it to open all the way. I have a feeling that it is supposed to just open all the way without so much effort but my hinge may be defective. Anyway, thanks again! It is funny how the little things like opening a glove box all the way can make my day!

 Yeah I know what you mean... try putting some light machine oil on that second hinge and working it in...
