my power windows went out a few months back and I just now have time to dedicate to it.

has anybody worked on this or used a book as a reference? the way it broke was that it came loose one day and after I re-attached the required internal brackets, it didn't work again...I may have missed something another bracket but even so it should have at least moved.

Could it just be that the motor is out? any insight on replacing this?

First check fuses, always start with the simple stuff. If fuses OK disconect the motor and try powering it up from a 12 volt supply, battery or jump box, if fuse good and motor works then has to be the switch. Be aware that the cables running from the body to the door can eventualy break and short out due to the opening and closing of the door and cause an intermitant blowing of the fuse or lack of power to the windows.
