Which is better for messing around with 1/4 mile times? I have seen both in magazines and wondering which is best (most accurate) and easiest to use?

There both pretty close. I use the Gtech and got mine off of ebay for $35. My buddy wanted me to get my own because i used his all the time:lol: . It will get you a ball park figure. I deduct 10% of what every my time is and this will get you close.
But the only real test is the track or a floor dyno. I see so many people use these things and tell you they run a 12 sec 1/4 mile time, then they get to the track and run a 13.90. So now matter what, don't take the times to heart.

$35 ebay? I think I'll go there first to see what is available. Yeh I understand these are just estimates and a tool more for having fun. Still want one!

Man there is a big price difference between these things! Curious to see what these two things where about I started researching myself. It would look like the Hypertech piece could be more accurate because it is plugged into your cars computer? Bigger screen but what a ouch on price! I guess you get what you pay for!

The HyperPAC is heads and shoulders above a Gtech. Unlike the Gtech the HyperPAC gives accurate readings even if you spin the tires, and it starts you with a simulated christmas tree ( yellow yellow yellow green) so it not only gives your 60ft and 1/4 mile times it also lets you know your reaction time.

I've got my HyperPAC mounted on a pod mount.

I just picked up a new 2008 and just starting to play around alittle. How accurate are these things? I'm talking about the HP readings?

The HP & TQ numbers are extremely accurate as they take into account atmospheric conditions and parasitic losses. We have dynoed a car on one of our AWD dynos here then dyoned with the HyperPAC and the numbers were very close.

I missed this post, we are running the Hypertech unit in both our Vettes. We have tried the Gtech unit, and there is absolutely no comparison. The Hypertech unit is a must have in our opinion! We will be publishing here soon a full product review on the Hyperpac. Keep an eye out for it.
