It could be a ignition component that is failing when it gets hot. Can you tell if the fuel pump is running when you first turn the key on? Your problem is either a lack of fuel or lack of a spark. So you need to verify you have fuel pressure and a spark.

Can you check for codes when this happens. What year is your car? How many miles on it? It sounds like ignition, but, check codes and fuel pressure. If no codes and you have fuel pressure, check your injectors with a noid light when it won't start. See if you have spark at a plug and at the coil. If not, then you may have a bad coil, ICM or (hopefully not) a bad opti-spark distributor. Let us know what, if any codes it shows.

That sounds about right. Don't think injectors, having them all fail at the same time, isn't likely.

you might want to check your temp sensor

Do you have headers on your car? If so, heat soak may be causing this.

Changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, module, fuel filter. Gonna try fuel pump next. But will start right up with starting fluid. Any ideas?

Does it stay running when you use the starting fluid? Did you check the dash for codes yet? get a paperclip and read your codes. This will save you some money instead of throwing parts at it.

By the way, what year is your 'vette? I should have asked that earlier.

Yeah it says running til shut off. One thing i noticed was that if turned off with the key it wont start back up but one time i stalled it and it started right back up without turning the key back all the way.

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it before you spend more money changing parts.

I had a similar problem on my 89 corvette and I had to replace two bad fuel injectors.

Definitely sounds like fuel to me since he is obviously getting spark when it runs on the ether. After checking fuel pressure, my next guess would be injector(s) leaking down and flooding the engine. Will it start after you push the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking? (without ether) This helps to clear the flooding problem by temporarily shutting off the fuel to the injectors. What does your exhaust smell like when it does start? Rich fuel smell? Also, another thought, maybe someone already suggested this, but, check your fuel filter and replace it if it has been a while. Keep working on it!
