I have a '01 and haven't gotten on the "mod wagon" yet. The only thing I have done is an cat back exhaust. Everything else is stock.

Am I alone?

other than steering wheel and airbag decals, tail lettering, mats, and of course, the "performance hood seal", mine is all stock. it's already a great car and don't really need to spend a lot of money on it. :burnout:

Just a couple of cosmetic things...Steering wheel decal, airbag decal, cargo partition. I also painted the embossed emblem on the hood insulation. I may do some more under hood dress up in the future as I do show the car quite often. And of course the vanity plate.......FUN IS.
Also quad tip B&B Bullets for looks and the sound....er...NOISE:burnout: !!
A Z06 is a great machine the way it is, no need to MOD it.:)

Heck your new mufflers are a Mod!

I agree the car is already great! I guess, for me anyway, it's a form of personalizing it, making it MINE. Kind of like a house, I damn sure haven't left my house stock...

I have a 2003 that I have kept stock. I have been tempted during some of the Vette meets I have to admit. After seeing what some of these people have spent on their Vettes. I'll stand clear of that!

I have a set of Corsa Indy Pace Car exhaust on my 04. I like the sound and the car has enough power for a old man. Chuck

I kept my first C5Z stock except for SLP Bellos and Black wing. The C5Z I have now, is about as far from stock as you can get.

I loved driving the stocker as it was so well balanced from the factory.

I don't think that many Vette owners keep any of thier vettes stock. Maybe just the older vettes.

I beg to differ a bit. Most Vette owners don't keep their Vettes "bone stock" (no mods whatsoever, including strictly visual mods) but as far as power mods are concerned, most keep them close to stock, nothing beyond a Catback or maybe a CAI. Unless you are a die-hard racer, I don't see the point of S/Cs or H/C swaps (all of which cost big $$$$$ on a C5/C6). These cars are too fast for public roads in stock form and are already  Just my .02 Peace:cheers:

Good point they are already cool in stock form, I think especially a Z06 like my 02. But then again I think the second picture is 'cooler' then the first, just my opinion, and yeah you have another good point who really needs to smoke the tires at 55 MPH when pushing that go pedal a little harder in third :burnout:

Nice ride:thumbsup: I know that set up cost about $12k or more. I wasn't dissing guys who make mods. I like hearing about and seeing rides that have well built power mods on them:party: Just saying that I personally don't see the point of doing that for myself seeing that I don't use the car that way. Additionally, I am investing and trying to buy a new home and can't really function spending that kind of coin on mods.

I think most Vette owners (at least the ones I have come across in person, in the hundreds) don't go any further than intake and exhaust.

Engine Performance mods are not the only mods around! Personally I'm into lighting;

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r117/tstar99/LED%20Mod/DSC01143.jpg

I like more subtle exterior mods, Front Black outs, Reverse light Blackouts, Full screens (Minus Fogs) Painted Calipers, Chrome Wheels ect...

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r117/tstar99/Vette%20Pics/FrontclipNikBWstamped.jpg

I've got full bolt-ons and probably will stay that way... At least for now! ;) Next are custom interior Leather parts...

Shake it up! No production car is made to your exact liking! I hated the fuel door release button location so I put a new one where I wanted it;

Nice ride:thumbsup: Like I said, I am not dissing mods. I have subtle visual mods and a Corsa Touring exhaust, so I am not "bone stock". I just happen to think my car is fast enough as is and I have a GMPP service plan so power mods are out of the question for me.

That said, I have no problem with people making their ride uniquely their own:cheers:

I have a torch red 2001 C5 coupe. And I have installed magnaflow exhaust with cross over, blackwing air filter with smooth coupling, Hypertech Max Energy, C6 wheels, chrome taillight and license plate bling, and a rear spoiler. I feel that I have done all that I want to this car. I plan on giving my 2001 C5 with 24,000 miles on it to my wife when I get my new Z06.

I had a 94 red on red pure stock and that was great , even won many awards. I now have a 2004 and am changing the wheels and adding a few emblems adding small personal touches . The little I change is for me so as long as I drive it I will enjoy it.

I've done simple mods on my car. Intake, exhaust, wheels & tires. It's a great car stock but it's fun adding some touches that make it just a little different. Mines a DD so I wanted to keep it sane. Overall I love a totally stock, clean vette but am facinated by others ideas and modifications. I really love some of the lighting ideas above and that supercharger is freakin beautiful. You know when you start modifying from such an elevated point (like our vettes) you can create something truly amazing.

About $10,000 more a year:smack:

In all seriousness, I don't plan any power mods for two reasons:

1. I am investing my extra coin into my home

2. I really wouldn't use the additional HP.

Heck, you can go to jail without trying in a stock Vette.

The vette is a hobby... GM didn't make my Vette specifically for me, hence the mods I've done to make it mine. For other's it's perfect out of the box, and that's great!

But I'm am modder by heart, heck I even installed a urinal in my upstairs bathroom!

Nothing wrong with mods. Heck, like I said, I have some exterior and interior visual mods and a Corsa Touring catback (I don't like the look or sound of the stock exhaust on the C5) If money were not a consideration, I would take it to Lingenfelter and add the works to my car. I guess I just have to be satisfied with 350 HP to the crank and a top end of 175:smack:

Outside of some wheels I bought a few days after buying it, they dont get much stocker than this. If I had known about the fun factor beforehand this would be a 700rwhp car. But Ive dumped plenty into other cars so this is not one I cared about modifying really outside of maybe a catback for sound. Its a dependable car that gives me no trouble and is faster than most of whats out there. Better than driving a honda.

I've run big Merc's (560 sel and 500 sel) and 750 BMW's and always kept them stock right down to original equipment hoses, wiper blades and spark plugs.

I no have a red 87 and a white 03 vette and can't seem to stop throwing money at them.:banghead: Like someone else said, it is a hobby.
The red vette was bought just to keep me occupied in the evenings.
Have added new carpts, alternator, a/c, retrimmed seats, c6 rims, the usual.

The only mod to my '01 Coupe is the chrome plate with the crossed flags between the exhaust pipes.

Do I want to do more? Yes.. maybe a CAI.. but little more than that. I've been a "dead stock" person for years, but I'm starting to want to make it "mine".
