I was in high school and about 17 years old. Paid $600 for a 1963 Studebaker GT Hawk. Lessons learned...priceless. Within the first month I had the engine and transmission out of the car and into the garage. Rebuilt them both myself. Chromed just about all of the external engine parts I could get my hands on. Flipped it into one of the most popular cars on campus.

It was a MG I paid $375. The car never made it to getting registered for the road. I ended up picking up a pickup.

Hate to admit it but yes I ONCE owned a ford. 59 Ford F100 150.00 Hey at 13 living in the Ok panhandle I thought it was great. Wide open spaces and miles and miles of dirt road. If I remember correctly the hood latch was broken. Had to hold it down with a bungee cord. Watch out about 50 mph it would start to come up. Sad to say that was about top speed.

$50.00 in '65. Ran great. Painted it yellow with a foot wide Black racin' stripe down the middle. Used it for a fishin' car in the North East Calif. mountains.

$30.00 for a 1950 Ford 4-door custom. It had a flat head 8 with 3-speed. Had to put a set of points in it to get it home, but it ran pretty good. Got a couple photos of it on my "Ghosts Of The Past II" album.....I was a month or two past my 15th birthday when I bought it

Cool ride, I wish I had one right now! Thanks and me too! It would probably be worth a lot more than I paid for it. It was an 8 cylinder flat head engine with very little power. No AC, power steering or brakes. Did have a radio and that's all.

I bought a 61 Plymouth Valiant, 6 cylinder, 3-speed with a broken windshield and missing battery for $35 in 1972. A year later I traded it and $60 for a 68 Nova 6 cylinder. I was a GI, and with the auto hobby shop on base I was actually able to make a pretty decent ride out of these. I worked them up to a 67 GTO just before I got orders for Germany. Total cash outlay was about $200.

In '76 when I turned 16 I paid $500 for a '70 Chevelle with 32,000 miles on it. It was blue with a white vinyl top, white vinyl bucket seats, 3 speed auto on the floor, and a 350. It was a great car until an unisured motorist ran into the back of me at a stop sign and totalled it.:patriot:
