: $4000 spent!
VetteEx 02-26-2008, 08:08 AM I can't believe that I have owned this car (2002 C5 Corvette) less than a month and already I have spent just over $4,000! But the car sounds so much better and I do notice more HP. What I have gotten so far is Kooks headers, Corsa Tiger Shark Exhaust, X pipe, K&N Filter, tinted the windows and lowered the car. I think next month going to work on the interior a little.
I have always loved Corvettes and have had other cars that I have souped up, but my goodness parts for Corvettes are alot more than other cars I have worked on! :( But its all good!

prochargedvette 02-26-2008, 10:14 AM Well welcome to the club! Parts aren't cheap for these cars and its very easy to build up a nice bill! But at the end of the day these cars are so much fun to drive! Making it all worth the money spent!

VetteEx 04-27-2008, 08:59 AM Well this figure may be going up another $8000  , I'm almost ready to move on a supercharger! I'm looking at a pro charger. I've seen just to many you tube video's of sick power to put it off any longer. :willy_nilly:

Thats just for the kit right? Not including installation? I was thinking if you are getting a supercharger installed for $8k, then that is one hell of a deal!!!

02RonZ06 04-28-2008, 11:50 AM I bought my 2002 Z06 about a year and a half ago, with some nice mods already done to it...1.5 years later and I too am in the same boat, mod after mod, once I get one mod done, I am thinking about the next mod...LMAO
The mod that is in my avatar picture is definetly one of the most exciting mods that always brings smiles to my face, just to look at it in the garage, but then to drive it and hit the pedal in basically any gear is even more larger smiles then before, Mod on and enjoy it.

I'm rather fond of that mod myself, what did that set you back $9000?

Well tHAT Actual mod, turned into a little more parts and work then I planned on at the begining, probably actually a little of $10,000 for all the things that were done including installation of all the things and a custom tune and 75 runs on the dyno (all those runs on the dyno were not all full pulls at WOT, probably only about 10-15 or so were.) install was, Maggie supercharger, optional second intercooler, seperate cooling system and pump, methanol injection system with pump and controls wired inside the car, new a-pillar and boost and fuel pressure guages, crank pinned, new dry cell battery, new plugs and wires, new air tube install, new belt, swaped blower pulley to smaller 2.7 from 3.1 before picking it up. $400 to register VIN for tune (one time fee, if you go back to the same shop for future changes, and if you buy dyno time then too.)
Black Label Vette 05-05-2008, 08:11 PM I've learned over the years that
you can dump a ton of money
into almost anything that has
wheels. The only problem with
that is you will never recoup
the money you spent. I decided
that this last Vette I bought is
going to remain stock with the
exception of an Air-Intake and
a Cat-Back system. It all depends
on how many
CUBIC DOLLARS YOU WANT TO BURN!!!!!!

That is so true, and also why it is usually better to buy a nice used vehicle with mods already done, you'll usually save a lot of $$, I did not and do not plan on selling my 2002 Z06, specially since I paid cash for it and have no payments, so modding is great for me, and I try to get good popular mods, so just in case I could always de-mod it and make some good $$ back on what I did mod. Specially since most of the mods I bought slightly used from friends and on-line.
