i dont have to take the transmission out to change my flexplate do i dont i just unbolt the stall converter and then the four bolts on the block?

:iagree: Trying to do that w/out removing the trans is to "spend an hour, saving 10 minutes". Not worth it. Pull the trans.

thanks guys its just such a pain in the *** to pull that tranny ive done it many times before changing trannys stall converters ect.

You can try installing long bolts in the bellhousing, so you can slide the trans back far enough to change the flex plate. I did that on a chevy p/u 4x4, worked great.

thread starter bolts in the bottom 2 tranny bolt holes, slide tranny back on the bolts. Unbolt flex plate with box end. worked for me
