Don't you ever say that again

If you don't know all ready mix 70% resin and 30% bondo. It will be allot easier to sand and will self level a little better. Sanding with 80 grit in between every coat helps. Use the same amount of resin hardener... don't change that.

Full suspension Mongoose?? :patriot:

I've never heard that Shags, thanks!
So you first mix the epoxy at recommended ratios then mix the bondo the same, and then blend them 70/30??

Will this work with epoxy resin? (...and the carbon fiber project I'm working on...?)

Mix the resin and bondo first then add resin hardener last. (70% resin and 30% bondo) If you don't add the hardener last it will start to set before you get it all on.

Fiberglass resin and bondo is all I have been doing.

Hey GAvette, wasn't trying to highjack your thread, but it seems like a good time to pick Shagster's brain...

Cool! Thanks again Shags!
Do you get the same pot/working time or does it change?
The epoxy resin I'm currently using gives me 20-30mins and I'd hate to get less than 20.
I'll run a test mix this weekend, but thought you might have some input about that...

It should not change that much... If anything it will shorten it a little. I would say it just depends on how much hardener you use.

I'm using a Shell resin and TETA hardner mixed at 100g/15.4g. with 32 minutes of work time at 70*F, a little longer at 60*.

I'll try a small 1/2 size batch of 50grams of resin mixed into 22grams of bondo, then add 7.7grams of hardner, to keep my resin/hardner mix the same and let you know what happens... :thumbsup3:

I love my Diamondback V6 DBR!
The wife rides a Santa Cruz Juliana SL with disc brakes.
Full suspension is the way to go!
