Anyone airbrush their hoods? Who does good work? I have a pretty cool idea I wanted painted under the hood and don't know who would even do that? I know people do it, because I have seen at shows?

There is a Lady named Paula that does fantastic work... I can't find her website bookmark though!!!! Maybe a Google search will turn her up... I seem to remember she used MySpace or something odd like that....

Let us know if you find her...

She comes highly recommended and her work looks great from the pics. Lots of people over in CF have had her do their hoods and they have nothing but good things to say. I got a quote from her at one point and she was very reasonable in her pricing as well. I don't think you could go wrong with getting a quote from her..

Wow her work is out of this world! Where did you ever hear of her? She has got to be pricey as all you know what!!

She's pretty well known actually, you need to get out more hamma~!!!!! I'm busting your chops, although she is very respected and well known, I heard about her in CF and have seen a few of her liners. As in most things, you get what you pay for, she's worth it when you want the best...

I did my own. Took me 2 years to decide what I wanted on it, and I also wanted it to match the yellow of the paint, didn't want it to clash.

From what I can see in your avatar that looks amazing. How long did it take you? Can you post a bigger photo?

Took a couple days, designing it, painting it, and installing is like a 5 minute job. Here's a pic, and another one i did for a fellow vette buddy. I'll be putting some more on my website soon too, I love doing these!

That silver surfer looks amazing. Nice job! How does that work if someone wants to get their hood airbrushed they would need to ship their hood? That could get pricey?

Well its actually painted on the hood liner, not the actually hood. They are secured by plastic pins and come off really easily.

I have gotten a new one to paint on for some people, that way there's only shipping one way, and they also have their origninal stock liner if they ever sell the car, that way they can easily put the car back to stock, and also keep the artwork.

Steve at Airbrush Incorporated is the only way to go. Check out his work here www.airbrushincorporated.com

He is a forum vendor and guarantees his work.

I had Paula do mine, and was not happy with either her work or service. Just giving my experience
(She also is not a SV forum vendor)

My car's not a daily driver, only put about 4000 a year. The liner is on all the time, and looks as good as new.

Hey thanks.

And to those concerned about longevity, my car IS a daily driver, (at least for driving season) I had my painted hoodliner in my first vette in all the time, and put 46,000 kms on it before I traded it in for my 08, and the hoodliner is still in fantastic shape. (sitting upstairs in my office) It doesn't really even get dirty like you may think, but you can indeed remove them and wash it with a hose without any problems. Just let it dry for a day or 2 before re-installing it.
I painted my new hood on the actual hood because I bought a vented supercharger hood, and there were no provisions to install a liner on it.

Here is a hood done by Rick Champagne. He may be a little too far away from you but his work is awesome.
