I have a 99 C5 with the factory wiring harness but after testing the wires, I didn't find a SWITCHED wire for the radio. I found (2) 12v constant but no 12 volt switched. Any suggestions? My new radio MUST be shut off manually each time as opposed to automatically turning on when I get into the car...
Any help would be appreciated

I would think there would be one in the original wiring harness. I used a adaptor wiring harness, it just hooked up to the factory harness and my radio harness. My radio shuts off automatically when I open the door to get out. Mine is also a 99 C5.

I hooked up a plug also but no such luck. I have the loaded edition convertible with the 12 disc changer and everything in the entire harness that has 12v is unswitched. It makes NO sense. I also DID change my factory radio but kept the Bose speakers. I used a SVEN2 level converter and a SVHGM4 harness and everything is excellent EXCEPT that I tested and everything was hot. Go figure

There is no 12V switched power behind the radio. You will either need a RAP (Retained Accessory Power) harness or you can catch 12V switched in the fuse box or in the main harness coming from your steering column.
above post is correct.... no switched behind radio, run a lead over to the wiring under the column or use a piece like the PAC to get your RAP....you have a Bose, so changing your head unit you need a piece like the ROEM-VET1 from PAC... Good luck on your install.
