I'm just getting old and get lazy at times. My 2000 C5 was sounding like it was misfiring so I picked up some plugs and swapped them out. The old ones where so gunked up. Honesty I don't remember the last time I changed these? How often should these things be replaced? Is it 3000 miles or thats oil? I need to get a head checked!

Depends on your driving. I swap out mine nearly as much as I give the oil change.

A good set of spark plugs should last at least 50,000 miles. Maybe it's new wiring you need.

Got 60K on my C5 and running great.. suggested interval is 100K miles but obviously that depends on the way the car is driven, the quality of gas.. many things.. if you are changing everytime you do oil, then your wasting you hard earned cash..

It was one of the two, new plugs and I picked up some new wires and the car is running pretty good. Really 50-60k out of plugs?
