Mine is quirky in that it sometimes starts up withing a couple cranks and other times it takes a handful of cranks.
At the extreme side it sometimes cranks around 10 times.
Once shes running it's fine and then I can shut it off and it cranks right up afterwards.

My 02 starts immediately, my 87 took about 6 cranks to get going.:DTS-smilie:

You'll see that the answers are pointing towards a certain trend that your Vette does not do, so I would get it checked out.:thumbsup:

Sounds like a lazy fuel pump?? Or a leak??
Leave the ignition on a few seconds prior to starting.

Sometimes my '82 starts instantly and then other times it takes 3-4 seconds.

Mine fires right up too.

Check the fuel filter, this new gas is nasty. It can burn up the fuel pump trying to push gasoline thru a stopped up filter. :burnout:
