I have the connection for my ipod that goes into the cigarette lighter. It fits, but I'm not getting any power to my ipod. The lighter has power and does work. Any idea's?

Yes, it does work. From what I understand, I have two options. One, get and adapter for the lighter, or two, replace the lighter with a bigger one. I will see if I can find an adpater.

I now have the solution. First, some radios (newer ones) have the the ability to charge and play your Ipod. My stereo is about 5 years old and does not have that option. I did put in a new lighter. That is a separate story. I pushed the lighter down and it came up hot. I thought "Great!". I put in my cell phone charger. I have a blackberry curve and I'm with Verizon. I put in my Verizon cell phone charger and it blew the fuse. It blew it every time I put it in. I went to Radio Shack and got a universal charger. That one worked! :D I placed an order with a local car audio shop. They ordered a wire that connect to the back of the stereo and keeps the Ipod charged. Once that was in, I switch to AUX and tada! My music is playing in my car. :happy0045:

82 CE with cassette.radio, but also hooked up to a 6d cd (in rear storage). got a "new" (same as old) unit to replace original radio to put in as channel display only shows half of numerals.(and that's iffy) Was considering removing cd and trying the ipod hookup(saw in CF a while back). Not real mechanical, but would this be doable in my ride? Also, when I turn on headlites, channel display goes out-electrical problem? cd hookin?can I get to everything by removing bezel and unit? thanks

yes, get the stereo that has the usb port in front, mine also has bluetooth for phone, mic over the rearview, killer set up!!! get one!!!!
