IronMan 03-17-2010, 08:30 AM I do and I think I will this weekend! lol I am getting up in the years a little bit and every now and then I feel like "waking" my spirit up! lol
This seems to be one of the best ways to do that IMO.!
Now hopefully I haven't forgotten how to do it! lol:burnout:

gwb16 03-20-2010, 02:08 AM I only feel like burning out when I fisrt start it or at every stop sign or at every red light and of course only on days that end in Y.:smilielol5:
I was in my 94 Cherokee Wednesday morning and had some yahoo blow the horn at me at PRECISELY the moment the light turned green...so I sat there for just a split second longer, jacked up the RPM's and dumped the clutch on my 33x12.50's, the horn tooter had to navigate through a smoke screen for her impatience.
But alas, in my anger management misstep, I failed to notice the cop in the other lane, two cars behind me...at the next light he tooted HIS HORN at me, smiling and announced "I didn't think Jeep Cherokee's could do that - DON"T DO IT AGAIN! Got it?" I gave him a sheepish and polite "Yes Sir". If I had been in my Vette...he'd given me some paper I'm sure.:toocrazy:

I am getting new Nitto Invos on monday, so it is time to have some fun this weekend. If the rain would just stop.:kngt::kngt::wtf:
In my vette which is auto, can one actually rev up a little in neutral and then shift it fast to 1st? Or is this bad for the auto transmission?

That is very bad for the transmission. Try to lightly press the brake and mash the go pedal. Just want the front brakes to hold a little.
awnuts 03-20-2010, 01:19 PM Thats called a nuetral drop not good.At high RPMS you might get 5 or 6 trys then blown tranny.I did some drop testing just to see how long trans would hold out years ago.In my trys the 2 speed power glide held for 2 or 3 drops. The 350 trans maybe 4 and the 400 trans 5 or 6.Now these were all stock transmissions and old beater chevys. But again even at low rpm your beating the hell out of the clutches.Plus I think its also hard on the drive train.I did one once the drive shaft broke a joint and shot through my floor and I had to change my shorts.
lonnie 03-20-2010, 08:27 PM I did a donut with my ex girlfriend she said she didn't know that car would do that.
curlybill 03-21-2010, 07:55 AM I did a couple months ago to make my nephew smile!:rockon6rk:

:burnout:Back in 1967 I had a 65 GTO with a 4sp manual that I use to beat the pergeebers out of. One day I was playing racecar driver on some backroads in the Bay area (Oakland/SF) and I power shifted from 2ed to 3rd and at a little over 70 the driveshaft snapped and catapulted the the back of the car about 6ft into the air. The bad part was I was on a twisty mountain road with a cliff on one side (80 or so foot drop) and a rock wall on the other and I was passing another car. By the grace of GOD I didn't hit anyone and stayed on the road and got the car pulled over to the only wide spot in the road.:food-smiley-019:
But driving it through the gears would that be ok?
Pulling away in 1st then changing up?
awnuts 03-22-2010, 01:15 AM Yep them aint churchbells clanging down the road.Funny thing is I busted more U joints then yokes.I went through an Impala phase in the 70's I had 6 of em plus a caprice for dating.I miss them big old bench seats.
USNChief 03-22-2010, 04:44 AM I most certainly do! :woowoo:
