Polished with a clear coat, I'm too lazy to keep it fully polished and looking spotless, haha.

Chrome won't get you home, but you'll sure look nice!

I have polished with a clear cote, but I love the sparkle of a good set of chrome wheels.

I started out polishing everything, but it quickly needed redone even though it was just sitting in the garage due to oxidation dulling it. I tried clear coats, both powder and spray, but they loose alot of shine. And my powder coater warned me they would be short lived since there was little adhesion due to polishing out the sanding scratches needed for them to bond well to the surface.
So, in the end i went with chrome. But it isn't all that much easier to maintain since you have to constantly clean everything off of it.

Polished looks better but chrome is usually easier to take care of.

I hate chrome because it looks cheap. Polishing is the only way to go. Yes, it's a LOT of work but the end results are breathtaking.

:goodpost: That is what I have as well. Easy to care for, no worry about pitting or peeling and just a tad lighter for the track. But chrome sure looks nice when it sparkles.

I could go either way depending on the color of the car.

Depends on the chrome.

Depends on the chrome. And sometimes what is plated. :goodpost: I've seen instances where I thought the items plated were just in the wrong place or poorly done. Anytime an item that is not normally "finished" is painted, polished, or plated, I think it draws attention to it. Proper (chrome) plating is actually more labor intensive upfront, but generally less expensive and/or labor intensive to maintain. Sometimes even a good brushed finish can be attractive. I tend to agree with ToBrokeToRetire when it comes to appreciating the effort required to maintain it's beauty, but personally I tend to error on the side of practicality.........prep it right and plate it! :cowboy:

An old drag racer used to tell me "If it don't go, chrome it". It stuck. Have stayed away from it ever since..uh, that would be 45 years now. Clean, crisp and subtle does it for me.
