Hi guys,
I'm think of getting into a C6 but want to see what this car needs before doing track days on aregular basis. What's the "glass jaw" of the car when going to the track. Are the brakes adequate(besides stainless lines), does the LSD do it's job, how does the suspension cope with the track, any known issues with the 08's.
I currently track a 350Z and I'm starting to throw some money at it. The thing is, by the time I'm done setting it up the way I want it, it'll be about the same cost as getting a new C6. If the C6 needs too many upgrades in oredr to be tracked regulalry, then i'll just stick to the Z.
I've done some searching here on topics regarding road course but haven't found much.

Thanks!

Good question. The C5 and C6 are very track capable from the factory with the exception of the factory eccentric bolts in the front lower and rear lower control arms. These are used to adjust the alignment of the car and have a tendency to slip when the cars are tracked, potentially ruining your set of tires. The solution to this problem is to install our Camber Kit. This kit replaces the stock eccentric bolts with aluminum plates that will "lock in" your desired alignment, even during hard track use!

I would say that this is the first must-have item before tracking the car.

For the C5 and C6 this kit runs for $290 and for the C6 Z06 it is $350.

Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. We are excited to talk to our customers about our product and also track setup!

Go for the Z51 package, fairly track ready, I think you will be surprised how well it handles straight from the factory.

Replacing the run flats will be a very wise option and will improve track handling vastly. Depending how serious you are and how often you take it to the track, you can change to coil-overs ect, but it all just depends on how much you want to spend. Of course you can just get a ZO6, and its just about ready to rock!

One thing tho, after a track day, you'll want to change your clutch fluid, this can be done easily yourself for dirt cheap, so no worries there.

Both the 350Z and C6 are capable right out of the box, but the C6 obviously has more HP and torque without a lot of additional money required. Most of the C6 drivers who run with us (www.MVPTrackTime.com) upgrade the tires and many have switched to "R" compound track tires like Hoosier R6, Yokohama, Hankook, etc. Another popular C6 upgrade for tracking is a harness bar and 4-5 point harnesses.
