I have the original 84 service manual and the 86 release of the 84 service manuals. In there they also released a dealer only service bulitins BOOK that must have well over a thousand service problems in it and references to the section in updated manuals to address the repairs. After using that service bulitin book to help put me to sleep at night for several weeks i came to the distinct conclussion that GM felt the entire car needed replaced. After owning 2 different 1984s i am further convinced that that is exactly the point the service bulitin book was trying to make. I am sorry if this makes some of the 84 owners mad, but GM didn't get most of the problems solved untill late 86 models. Even then the number of entries were just too high in the bulitins. I have seen many of each year and will still state that the 84 was just a mistake that shouldn't have been released because of too many big-wigs trying to hurry it's release. in the end that site is missing hundreds, if not thousands, of bullitins just on the 84. The obscurity of the one the site does have even points to problems with every part of that year. I have an 84 with 54,000 miles. I have only had it 6 months. I haven had many real problems with it. Once i got the engine tuned properly it rans SUPERBLY ! ! I had to take to a Corvette Only facility to get it right, but otherwise no problems to speak of. anciano 04-05-2011, 03:33 PM Yeah, great.
