Hi, I just added a Mag supercharger to my 08 C6.
Is there a good place in southern California where I could have my transmission beefed up.
It was making a funny grinding noise from the back and it would not go into reverse or drive. After I turned it off and back on it seemed to be ok. I had it at the dealer today, but it worked perfect.
Thanks for your help.

I don't think anyone is making beefed up parts for the A6 yet. I remember someone from transgo was looking for tester cars, but I never heard anything else about that in a while. Probably be better off having it looked at, rebuild if need be, put a stall converter in and some rear end gears.

Is RPM doing them?

Where are you in Cali?

Let me know how you like them and what kind of performance changes you experience.

I'm just starting with my C6 and working on upgrades.

Good luck!

RPM is your best bet, but you will need to ship your tranny to them.

:iagree: you want it done right the first time, RPM is the place to go

I have overhauled all of my automatic transmissions myself. If you can turn wrenches pretty well, then rebuilding an automatic transmission will be easy for you. Other than you needing a few special tools (you can easily fabricate your own), the rest of the transmission is easily taken apart using standard metric tools. All of the high performance parts are readily available from TransGo. Just buy a Haynes repair manual and you can dive into it with confidence. It will only cost you several hundred dollars to completely overhaul yours, as opposed to paying several thousand dollars to someone else. Try it. You will be amazed at how easy it is to rebuild one yourself, and rewarding because of the tremendous savings.

I'll give props to TBTR for rebuilding a tranny, but he has not done the A6 and Transgo does not offer billet and upgraded parts for the A6.

RPM is a good shop. I'd call and ask them what they actually do. IIRC, they have some proprietary upgrades, but I have not yet seen the race level upgrade kits for the A6 like those that are available for the 4L60/700R/TH-400.

Another angle to look at is the CTS-V tranny. It may have some factory upgraded parts that could be included.

Lastly, if you are only pushing around 500 RWHP, I'd leave it alone. Sure it could give out, but other mild S/C cars are holding together on the stock tranny. Even if you only get 2 years out of it, the aftermarket for that tranny may have improved by then.
