Is this for real? I know alot of companies make claims and fall way short of actual results. What you all think about this -

"The PICC, Pre-Ignition Catalytic Converter is a breakthrough new technology that could get your car up to five times the gas mileage!"

I signed up for a quote. Hell...if I can get my Duramax up to 30 MPG with this it might be worth it.

I smell snake oil...
Anything that takes energy to "create" energy might be a lose/lose deal...

True. But what if it is actually cost effective? We'll never know until someone we know at least tries it.

True, but if it doesn't peform the buyer is out the scratch.
I'm extremely leeery of anything promising huge MPG gains. I've been in the industry a long time and have some chemistry training in my background as well. Some things just don't add up.

I did watch their video but I am super skeptical anyway. Caveat Emptor....

Agreed. They're taking water and applying electricity into it to seperate some of the hydrogen. The engine can burn the hydrogen, that's not the issue.

The issue is there's this little thing called the Conversation of Energy Law. Energy levels in a closed system remain contant, though they can change forms.

Where do they get this electricity to seperate hydrogen? From the alternator of course, which converts the energy of the gasoline being burned into electricity. It's a big inefficient system, the more indirect the application of energy is to do the work desired the more wasted energy there will be along the way.

Just like everything else, if it were some great new functional idea car manufacturers would have bought the rights to it and be applying it to their own vehicles. There are no big corporate conspiracies, there are only people trying to tell you there are so they can swindle you out of your money.

Did you get a free quote to see what the cost of the first step is?

hmmmm....:leaving: Not sure on this one. If this was ligit so many auto manufactures would have this installed on the cars from the get go.

These days with the gas being going up in price, you will start see all kinds of people trying to sell stuff like this.. Personally unless I see I won't beleive it.

I got my quote from them. They asked for what cars do you want to use it for. I gave them the info for my 99 T/A & my duramax.
They stated roughly $1100.00 but they didn't state which application.
It's bogus. If you ask me. They would offer some of these for free if they were serious enough about it.

:iagree: As others pointed out, if it takes energy to create energy there is a net loss not gain. I even spent the time looking over their video. Can't see any magic catalyst that will turn ketchup into fuel. :bs: Ketchup into burnt ketchup, yes!

We're going to see a lot of this kind of crap with crude hitting $100/barrel recently! Remember, if they promise you the moon, thats what you're going to get from them when you ask for your money back. Mooned!

I am always weary of things such as this. They really never seem to pan out and usually you get burnt in the end! We are just going to have to live with the fact that the gas prices are going to stay pretty high.:(
