: Researching seat covers

Was trying to do a little research on seat covers for my 00 Vert and was wondering if anyone had compared Ecklers, to MidAmerica to Vette essentials, etc.

There seems to be a big price spread and was wondering if some were better quality, better stitching, etc. If so, which ones did you like best? What was the best value for the money, in your opinion?

Probably gonna get new foam as well.

Any help is appreciated.

Check out my DIY thread (http://www.smokinvette.com/corvetteforum/showthread.php?t=8273) on replacing seat covers. Those cost me $600 incuding the center console. PM me for the source.

What an excellent DIY thread (http://www.smokinvette.com/corvetteforum/showthread.php?t=8273) on installing seat covers.
I especially like your tip on adding the slit piece of tubing over the sharp edge of the seat back support to keep it from cutting into the seat foam. Why doesn't GM do this??

Actually, the seat frames are fiberglass but I'm with you. After the first three years, they had to have known it was a problem. That foam ain't cheap and I had to replace the two biggest pieces on the driver's side. I was determined NOT to have to buy anymore foam.

Some guys had theirs fixed for free. I feel sorry for guys who bought the Vette Essentials seats at $2000 a pop. If they don't protect their new investment, that will be a costly oversight.

I'm gonna try C5 seatcovers. Wasn't really looking for two-tone, but I bet they can fix me up with what I want.

Probably just need driver foam.
