Does anyone have the Phantom license plate cover ,I bought one last year and put it on and just noticed last night that it completely blocks the lights that illuminate the plate,anyone find a fix for that?I mean the plate is totally black,can't believe that I haven't been stopped.

I haven't seen that one before. Probably because anyone using it has gotten pulled over! lol

Go to Ecklers and type in Phantom license cover and you will see what I am talking about,I may have to install an LED light in the frame itself.

Thought they were illegal in most states?

If they allow no light to the plate I can see why.The other night we were coming home from a cruise in and one of our club members following me told me,I thought maybe the lights were burned out but they were fine.

I want one, I think they atleast make the plate look reasonably presentable.

I have one of these and I will say that it does block the light a little bit. I also have Bright LED bulbs instead of the regular ones so that helps too. Never been pulled over for it.:thumbsup:

Bucwheat are your license plate lights OEM bulbs?
I think RVG is right, some 194 p-n-p LED's would be bright enough to fix the issue. :thumbsup3:

You could get some strip LED's and a couple of 194 pigtails and attach/stick them to the frame itself shining inward?
Leave the OEM fixtures alone so you could swap back if you ever removed it.
Something that bright might look out of place tho if you don't have any other LED's in the tail. :cheers:

Yea mtndv8, I ended up getting some of thoses single LED lights and installing three in the frame itself,they fit almost flush and look pretty good. I thought about putting in the 194 led's but the frame would still block the light from that direction.
