I know this is the C5 section and I have a C6 so I hope no one minds that I put my 2 cents in here! I bought mine because I always wanted a Corvette and this one was parked on the dealers lot on the corner for a week before I finally decided to go in and take a look at her! My favorite color Red! After driving it, I was sold for life!:D

I was in High School (1978) working at a gas station full time, had the money and always wanted one. Of course I couldn't afford gas after that... LOL

Its a long story, but after 3 months, I finally bought a Z. This all started when 3 months ago I started researching building a 69 pro-touring camaro. After much debate, I decided against spending 50k for a "project" that would just take time away from my kids.
Somehow, I came across a used z06 and realized I could have a long time dream for half the cost of the camaro project. Having grown up with my grandpa/uncle owning the local Chevy dealership, Ive always loved vettes.

Always wanted one but couldn't afford it so I had the money( in my older yrs. ) in saving & thought Hell can't take it ($$)with you when your gone so I found me the one I wanted Red 2004 Z06 (20 000 mi. )I bought It. The wife told me to buy a c6 Z06 so I didn't have to do anything to it but I like the c5 z06 better & besides that it all the fun you get out of adding things to your car I like .:patriot:

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted a C3 vette. My dad bought his 62 vette July 14 last year. He brought it to my shop 2 days later to store it, and told me about the 75 that was owned by the old man he got his 62 from. Four days later I drove down to see it and hauled it home. Wife has not spoken to me since then.

What motivated you to buy your first Corvette?

my three older brothers all had Corvettes. When it came time for me to get my drivers license - they got together and told me that if I ever showed up with a Mustang... that they'd kick my azz.

Here's some pics of all my families Corvettes:

I've have always loved Corvettes! My bro had a Stingray way back and let me drive it while sitting in his lap cause I was too small to reach the pedals - I loved that car:party: . When I bought my 02 Coupe last year I was actually looking at a 79 Jimmy for my son that this Vette dealership had and came upon the Black 02 and my husband actually talked me into it...."It's Black, you've always wanted one, you could by it for your 40th".....OK. So, we bought both.

Always wanted one (like everybody else on here) since going back to my HotWheels days. With four kids and a mortgage, my wants seemed to always be on the back burner. Then my brother in law got a 2003 white convertible. After 6 months of being eat up with jealousy, I found the perfect one. I saw it on the internet at American Sports Car Center in Atlanta(www.buyavette.net). I was so afraid that someone else would snatch it up, I left my wife three days after coming home from a hysterectomy surgery to go buy it. After 6 months on the couch, she has finally forgiven me.....I think! :thud:

In 2006, my F150 SuperCrew had been in an accident and was in the shop.

My wife said "Why don't you sell it and buy the Vette you always wanted?"

Hard to say no to that...

What motivated you to buy your first Corvette?
I dated a guy who had a ZR1 when they first came out. From the first time he took me for a ride in it, I was hooked. I just had to have a C4 Corvette!! After my kids got older and I was able to talk my husband into letting me spend the money on a car that only seats 2 people, I bought a 1994 Torch Red Coupe. I was in HEAVEN!!! I kept it for 5 years and then last year, feeling the need for more speed, I bought a 2004 Torch Red Coupe. Wow...what a difference!!! I didn't realize what I was missing...I should have bought a C5 first!! I'll probably say the same thing when I upgrade to a C6 in a few years.

Childhood dream since I was young, my dad was always building street rods and fast cars.... :burnout: I bought my first one when I was 35, and now I am on my 5th one, 4 C4's all with 6 speeds, and now the 02 Z06, and of course still a six speed as well. One of the good things is that I have paid cash for all of them so that leaves a lot of room for adding new things to them and modding them like you want without having to have a payment ontop of all the thoughts of adding things.

A good friend of mine and his brother both had Vettes, one a '69 Coupe and a '68 vert.
When the 69 427/390 Coupe went for sale, I couldn't say no!

Saddest day of my life when I had to sell it... but I knew I'd get another one, and now I do.
