I'm sure this question has been asked b4 but I almost pulled the trigger on a trade, mainly because my Family is growing (2 and half year old boy and new born boy as of 2-15-10) and I always have loved the camaro ( my father is the original owner of a mint 78 Z28) but I couldnt let go of the Vette. Now just so you know the vette is strictly a weekend car..I have a 07 MDX for the wife and I drive a company car 07 Charger. What would you have done?

I would have done exactly that! You already have other transportation for your family. I wouldn't give up the Vette, you will miss those weekend jaunts!!!!

Not a performace comparison here, seeing how the Camaro model here is a 6 cylinder version. But it is a good example of size differences, and if you want to see many more pictures of them or mainly the Camaro, check em' out. 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT (http://www.fastcoolcars.com/2010-camaro-2LT.htm)

There's just something about the Vette!

I had to make that choice not long ago and decided a used Corvette is still better than a new Camaro. I only wish I could have both!

I personally wouldn't do it, I just don't think that the Camero is a very good looking car compared to the Vette.

my friend has a new camaro it is very cool but not vette cool,as far as the family the back seat is very tight,I think you be hard pressed getting a car seat or two in there.you have other cars your doing good.

I've owned 6 Camaro's in my lifetime, have always been a fan of them, but they simply are not in the same arena as your Vette.
I'd keep the Vette.
Last Thursday, I replaced my dd, a 2002 Mazda Miata that had 37k on the clock. I bought it two years ago in Jan. with only 10k miles on it. I test drove a Camaro, and couldn't stand the extreme body roll, the way I couldn't comfortably see out of the car, and that dash reminded me of Elton John!
I was looking at and drove the 6 cylinder version as this was to replace a 30MPG car and was to be the new DD.
I found a car that ironically had 37k miles on it, and has always been a good looking car to me, so I bought it after a 40 min. test drive.
A 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT. It's a great car, has 300HP (298) and handles very well for what it is.

Both cars are iconic and I love the Camaro SS what a brute! But my dream since I was a kid was to own a vette, I even goaled by 30 I would have one...I got my vette @33...The vette is just a world class car..I couldnt let my baby go! Like Don i wish I could have both...but THE WIFE WOULD KILL ME

Although I love the look of the new Camaro, the vette is just sexier and I'm not sure the Camaro is that much faster.

I had to make the same decision myself. it was either the new camaro 1SS or a c5 (with some mods). i went with the vette obviously and couldnt be happier with my decision. they're so much easier to mod (which i have done) and customize and just feels so much better to drive compared to the SS (i test drove the SS).

Doesn't the AC work on the Vette? Put the kid in the trunk, turn up the air and no one will know the difference. If it gets cold throw in a blanket. Now theres a solution for you. Hell, Ray Charles could see that.

Do what my brother did............get one of each!
He got a 2010 2SS RS in yellow with the black stripes. It's a nice car, but damned uncomfortable inside. And the back seat is useless. I'd say for your purposes, keep the Vette...........at least till the Z28 comes out. :thumbsup3:

Use the other cars you have for the family hauling and keep the Vette.

You do not make sense. You already have the MDX and Charger that both seat 4 people or more and you are going to get rid of the vette because your family is growing?

Think about it............

Also, the new Camero is not going to become a classic. It is to boxy and non aerodynamic and when the "new car" shine and smell wears off it will just be another used Chevy............and never a "Corvette"

Make the choice that will both keep you happy and allow you to truck around your family!

I always liked camaros"old ones" but the new one looks so big and fat, bulky, goofy like just look at the pictures compared to the Vette. Vettes have always been a Sweet ride know matter what generation and thats a fact!:patriot:
