Simpe Green and semi soft scrub brushes and a toothbrush. Once you get ger clean, get a hood seal to keep it that way!

NO PRESSURE WASHER unless you want to replace a knock sensor.

Your engine is so clean! I was told that the dealers use pressure washers??? Is that not good? When I get my car back from the body shop I need or want to clean the motor?

Right no pressure washer! The knock sensors are located right under the intake and water will collect around them and rot em out, mainly the front one. There is a TSB out to build a silicone damn around them to protect em...

I use an open hose...

A garden hose without a handle thingy (good lord I forgot what they are called!), just open at the end. Don't let the Simple Green sit on there too long. If it's the first cleaning, do it in sections...

Alot of owners use pressure washers, being careful not to get close to the intake but I don't think it's worth the risk...

LOL, I was going to help you out on the name of that thing, but now I can't remember!! Anyways I agree with you, I have pressure washed my engine bay before, but I cover up all the sensitive parts before. It is a little more time consuming yet it will keep those parts safe. Now on the other hand sometimes I will just do it all by hand and a rag!! All depends on how I feel that morning!!
