Hi All. Just became a member/sponsor this week. The site owner here at smokinvette extended a warm invitation to me so I decided to take the plunge and sign on.
My company is called Subthump.com and we are a small independent custom subwoofer box manufacturer in East Central Indiana. I started this business from absolutely nothing about 8 years ago and it has grown remarkably well. Some of you may have heard of our name before. I got my start making f-body enlcosures for camaro and firebird owners; so we have a long-time reputation there. We started doing the corvette stuff about 5 or 6 years ago and those really took off. Since then we've grown our product line substantially to include models for pickups, and suv's and some other cars. So if you need an enclosure for your other vehicle, you might browse around on the site and see what else we may have for you.
We are not a mass production production facility. In fact, I really don't like the words pre-made or pre-fabbed since we are so much different than other box makers who are hiring cheap labor and selling to every mom and pop store or ebay re-seller. I still prefer the term custom because of the options we offer on our boxes. What we do is build a enough of each design to stay just ahead of the demand. That way orders are shipped and received quickly. There is very little 'red tape' in my business. I stay on top of pretty much every aspect from e-mails to orders to shipment. There are a few places trying to immulate our designs, but they can't match our service, knowledge and our comittment to our customers.
We do a few custom installs at our location, but that is not the main focus of our business. We have accounts with several audio and accessory manufacturers which means I can get practically any type of accessory you may need, including PAC and Metra and we carry some really nice component speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers. In the near future, I will be offering door speaker adapter plates for c5's and c6's. Our business is all about improving the sound in your car. Whether it be the addition of a sub or complete replacement of the factory system-we can help.
Below are some customer installs of our corvette products. This should give you a feel for what we have to offer. Most of our stuff is for the C5 cars. We have done a few boxes for C4s in the past, and we are currently working with Alex to come up with some new models for the C6. We are always thinking of new product concepts so if you have an idea that you think would go over well, please be sure and let us know.
