I'd probably get arrested with my "arsenal". :D''

Now we need to do a weekend "Run & Gun"!

Sounds like fun, but with my vette dismantled in the garage it would just be truck and gun.

Definitely. Now it's just a question of where?
Do you have a preferred rifle range?

I have a few guns

I just picked up a Desert Eagle .50, 3 magazines, a drop leg holster and 2 boxes of ammo this past weekend....

I have a small collection at the moment well I have been collecting since I was 8...

As a matter of fact, I had a Walther PPK, 9mm automatic, gold plated "American" edition, engraved with oak leaves...w/custom ivory grips. #144 of (how many?). If you see this gun, I reported it as stolen. The Ex. But I bought it before I met him and he coveted that gun...made him feel like James Bond maybe? Idiot even dry fired it. Keep in mind that I used to live in Montana and worked for an Outfitter, we also had leased areas in the Kenai pensisula of Alaska and the Brooks range....so I know my guns. :leaving:

Well I can't call native status, gotta live here a few more years and become a naturalized cccpalifornian... Yeah, unfortunately the tide started turning against us hard in the 80's. The Governator is no friend of gun owners thats for sure. But I digress.
Anyone interested in setting up a date & time in So Cal (and a place would be good too. :D) in the next few months?

I enjoy going to the range quite alot. I just use the range guns as in their Kimber's and Beretta's. It is just good fun IMO and I am also a good shot!! I won't get into the "Governator" discussion, it is what it is.

Oh yes, just started a couple years ago. I have a AR-15 BM, Sig P249, S&W 9MM at this point in time. Looking at a Bertha Thunder .380 for a CCW, any words of advice on the last gun?

Any reason you are going for a 380 ACP instead of 9, 40, or 45?
I always figure that you bring enough gun for a CCW application. And that gun should fit your hand nicely too. Kimber just released a super compact 45. Might be a handful though.

I own a Kimber Ultra Carry in .45 ACP, I think the gun you are talking about is the Ultra Ten II which is basically the same size as the Ultra Carry but lighter and three more shots in the mag. My Ultra Carry is not for the feint of heart, but if you can hang on it is surprisingly accurate (bushingless barrel with cone and ball seat) and a hell of a lot of firepower in a very concealable weapon.

Work of caution though my Kimber (and I have heard the same thing about others) doesn't like cheap ammo. I bought a good amount of the Wolf Ammo (Russian made I think) with the military spec weather proofing and steel casings and the Kimber just won't eject it properly. Good old American stuff workds great.

I live in kern county so we usually just go out into the desert and discharge our stuff. I don't know any rifle ranges around here but if you guys wanna assemble to throw some brass I'm game. I just need an address for mapquest. Oh yeah I just put one of these on order. S&W 500 magnum custom.

If you are going with a .380 as a CCW I would suggest using Fedral Hydra-shock ammo as it has considerable take down power. My concealed carry is a H&K mark 23. But out here I don't need to carry it too often.

My wife just thought my gun buying habits were bad. Then along came the vette. Mostly into Cowboy guns and Ruger anniversary guns along with 3 screw Rugers. Favorite of them all would have to be Sharpes 45/70. Company I work for just bought me a John Wayne 1892 44-40. Sure would like shoot it but so far have not gave in. Have 400 yrd. range in backyard and can't seem to find time to use it.

It's been a while since I put any lead through my Marlin 1895SS. I was pushing 405 grain rounds pretty hard the last time I checked: 1750 over the screens. Ouch! :D

The 45/70 is a fun caliber to shoot and reload for. I had always wanted a Ruger No 1 and a 45/70 but that was not a good combo. In the No 1 you can load it up almost to 458 Win Mag power but rifle is way to light. My loads for my Sharpes are only pushing the 405 bullet about 1100 fps. You can shoot it all day long and with peep sight take out 2 liter bottles at 400 yds.Still working on a load for my 38-55.

Yeah, the 1895SS with the loads I was using were a bit brutal. I read an article in Rifleman a few months back about the Marlins. Good read. Got a little more insight into how hot I was loading my Marlin. Fortunately mine was made in the mid/late 90's so it's nice & strong, especially on my shoulder!!!

You got it made there in OK. Wide open spaces and no looking over your shoulder if you bring something to shoot that "you're not supposed to have".

My closest neighbor is about a mile away. Took them a while to get used to the noise. Sure is nice to be able to step outside and round some off whenever I feel like it. Local gun club here has been wanting me to join. I just can't see driving 20 miles when it's 10 steps from my reloading room to my own range.

1938 Mod 70 Winchester, '06 w/scope ( my favorite )
1907 Mod 1895 lever action Winchester 30-40 Krag
1917 Colt pre Woodsman .22 semi-auto
Several hand me downs.
Been collecting for over 40 years. So ya, I have a few layin' around.
Don't take guns to Calif. They're too dang touchy 'bout my carryin' hardware.
So far, Nevada is cool about gun issues. :)

Those old pre 64 winchesters can't be beat. I would take an old mod 70 over 10 remington 700s any day of the week. Same with the pre 64 mod 12 shotgun. Hasn't been a pump shotgun made since these. Have 5 in safe at last count. As far as new shotguns it would be hard to pick between my Ruger Red Label 20 or my Gold Label 12.OK is great as far as gun owners are concerned. When I fisrt applied for my CCL the first thing the local Sheriff said was at least you will finally be legal.

We can open carry here in Nevada, just not downtown around casinos and such. Have a S&W Highway Patrolman 357 mag as co-pilot, and yes, it has teeth. ;)
Not gettin' a CCL, I change my mind too many times as to which one I'll be packin'.
Have a S&W 32-20 that's a nice shooter, and when I really want to shake things up I bring out one of my S&W 44 mags.

Wife just got a "Judge", 45/410, by Taurus.
Mod. 45410TKR-3SS
5 Rds. 2.5" chamber, Stainless Steel
One bad wheel gun.

Picked up a Pattern 14 Enfield (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/philqgbr/enfieldP14.html)about 10 years ago in .303 Brit. It's a fun one to shoot with the open sights. It even has the original volley sights. I worked up some loads that really seemed to improve the accuracy of this old war dog.

Have had OK CCL since 96. Carry 100% of the time. Never had to use it. Hoping I never do, but don't be fooled, would not hesitate if needed. Always told my wife if it was just me by my self I would try anything but deadly force. If her and the kids are with me I would not think twice. BTW I consider my vette as one of my kids now.

Thanks I just wish I had more time to enjoy them. They are kinda like my vette, spend more time looking at them and keeping them clean than shooting them. None of the Rugers have ever been shot. Only bout half of contender barrels are in this pic. Have a blast with them. Calibers ranging from 22 Match up to 45/70. My fav would have to be my 256Win Mag. Fun little cartridge to build and shoot.

:iagree: I had someone bang on my door about 1:00 am. When you live out in middle of nowhere a banging on the door that early makes you kinda leary. What did I do but jump out of bed in shorts only 45 in hand yank the door open and to my suprise was standing looking at one of our local cops with saftey off on my 45. He bout ****. Come to find out there was a big grass fire across the road and he just wanted to warn us. We still get good laugh everytime we see each other. He claims next time he will just call me.

They were showing a GE Minigun this evening. Here's a LINK to Dillon Aero (http://www.dillonaero.com/videos.html) that makes the M134 gun system. Very cool! I want one!
