Aside from the standard issues of turbo lag or belt problems, what are the pros and cons of each type of FI system to include: ease of installation, cost ,performance, longevity and maintenance? Stock engine LS2. Thanks in advance.

a centri S/C kit (e.g. ECS, A&A, procharger) is your best bang for the buck. You can find them installed and tuned for as low as $6500. Tradeoff is low end torque is improved but not outstanding on most kits. A positive displacement blower like the TVS requires a hood change but can give you 500 ft-lbs at 2500 rpm. Turbo kits are expensive.

LS2 Longevity and maintenance are typically not a problem if you keep the power mild, say 500 - 550 rwhp. Go above 600 RWHP and eventually something is going to give. Adding that power can take its toll on the drivetrain, but that's the case no matter which route you go.

ragtop99 hit the nail on the head, great decsription.

It all comes down to how you use the car, and what power/budget goals you have in mind.

Please feel free to PM me if I can answer any questions for you,
Ed

I'd go with Magnuson. They have a 3 year warranty which is the longest if I'm not mistaken.

Speaking of turbo's, does anyone know what happened to APS?

Or that new Edelbrock supercharger that will fit under the stock hood. :thumbsup3:

A proper twin turbo kit (I am not including STS here) will cost a lot more, be much harder to install, and has a few more potential issues; most turbo cars tend to run very hot and overheat on hot days, and there are potential oil consumption issues from the turbo bearings and the scavenge pump.
Turbos will make a lot more low end torque and can have their boost dialled in for different gears, different fuels etc. A turbo car will typically be faster than a supercharged car of the same power since it has more area under the power vs rpm curve.
Any turbo or Supercharger kit (aside from the old MP roots blowers) will make more power than the stock engine can support.

They pulled out of the American market completely. LG can still source parts for their kits though if I'm not mistaken.

Another one that will fit under stock hood is Dragon Racing's new 1000M.

I really wanted one of the new Edelbrock systems. I'm sure it's a great setup, but after thinking about it a while, I just don't want to be a guinea pig. Memories of BBK's 144 charger a number of years ago still stands out in my mind...let's not go there.
I've driven an STS based LS3. While it was a monster of a car, I didn't like how the throttle response felt. Not that it was bad, just not what I wanted to drop that much $$$ on.
And as much crap that I've talked about the "belt-driven turbos":tapedshut:...for the sake of longevity in my engine, an ECS system is going in my car as I type.

I would like to pick up a Twin Turbo set up myself. But this won't happen till later summer for me.
