: Putting your car on a dyno???

Does this hurt or really wear down on the motor when you put it on a dyno to get performance read outs? I am assuming that it is no different then getting on the car on the street however I am not sure seeing that the car would be strapped to the dyno and that may have a different affect on the car.
Long story short I would like to put mine on one someday and was curious about it.

Good question! I am going to have mine dynoed this spring. Like you said, I don't think it hurts it anymore than driveing it hard on the street.

No harder than doing a WOT pull in your 1:1 gear on a road, to redline.

If done properly(getting engine to operating temp first and not grinding gears if it's a stick)it will be no different than getting on it any other time.

I hope to get mine on the dyno this spring as well.

I've had mine on a few times. (vid in my sig), If they know what there doing is the same thing as flooring it going down the track.
