I'm thinking about getting either a Jeep or Toyota Land Cruiser? Right around late 70's. Just something to head upstate for camping this summer. Which is better? Easier to work on?

Well the support base goes with the Jeep. The mods you can do to one are outstanding. However the TLC groups are fierce competition. I'd still vote Jeep.

I dont know about Landcruisers but the 1970s jeeps were pretty tough and simple to maintain. Gas mileage however......

Those old Land Cruisers where pretty safari like! I personally would go with the Land Cruiser. They remind me of something you would find going through back country in Australia or Africa.

I would have to say the jeep because I think that they have a more esteemed background. Otherwise I would just get another Vette!

Let me think about this. :smack: I think you will be very happy with a Jeep. 4x4ing? Jeep is the only way to go!

both are cool I might even consiter an Internatinal Scout or Scout II, but between the other two I'd say Land Cruiser

How about an Early Bronco? I have a '70.

Forgot about the old Scouts. Those trucks where so cool. If you watch the 4x4 shows you will always see someone out running a Scout that has been modded out.
