I come out of Best Buy yesterday to find a note on my window reading: "Sorry I hit your car, I don't have insurance but wanted to at least say I'm sorry it was an accident - Nice car"

You believe this crap??? I walk around the car and get to the drivers side front and there is 3x3" dent with white paint??:wtf: You have got to be kidding me?? Damn!!! So this week I need to get the car into a body shop and get this covered. Pissed off. Thats all I have to say about this.

Hmm. A note to say your screwed by an unknown. :bs: Nice.... I feel for you as I've had my truck hit several times (gotta find better parking!) with NO note.

Wow, that really does suck, it luckily has not happened to me (knock on wood!) But everytime I here about a Vette getting damaged in any sort of fashion it always hits home and I feel bad for the owner.:(

Sorry to hear about that. I would be pretty pissed myself. Don't know whether to appreciate them leaving a note or not?? Good luck with the fix.

Make a police report and try to get the manager of Best Buy to let you check out the security tape of the parking lot and see if you can make out their license plate...

Don't you get it? The dude only left a note because someone saw him hit your ride. So he starts writing a note so nobody writes down his license # etc. Oldest trick in the book.

Still SUX :thud:

Probably a kid and is afraid of his parents. He probably went home and told his parents a lie to cover the damage he did to the car his parents bought him.

I agree with the others, see if the manager will let you look at the security tapes of the day of the accident.

$9000???!! At 85MPH you must have nearly had to replace the whole front end?? Was there any engine damage?

Well, I have the quote here. Not as much as I thought it would have been. They are going to charge me $788. I told the body guy what happened and he was really cool and said he would take care of me. He is also going to fix some of the chips on my hood at no additional cost. So I guess there is a plus to all of this. Car goes in Monday for the body work and I get it back on Thursday.

Just an update, my car was dropped off at the paint shop this morning and I should have it back towards end of week. Kind of excited that all the chips will be touched up on the car also.

How much did it cost to repair? Was it your Vette that got hit?

3:30 today I was told to head over and pick up my car. Pretty quick! Don't see myself parking in Best Buy any time soon!

Check BEST BUY and any surrounding stores, maybe they have a camera pointing in the area where your car was. never know ! ... But that really sucks. They wrote that note so that if anyone saw the hit they would say ,, well at least he 's leaving their number,,
