Yikes!! maybe your friend suffers from Corvette envy. I'm 68 yrs young & live in a retirement community here in Florida, all the old farts just glare and I do mean glare when I fire it up or out washing it. I have gift for them soon, removing cats and installing a raunchy exhaust. Life is sweet!! Your friend maybe needs to light-up his pipe, slip on his sponge bottom shoes and clog traffic in his volkswagon.........

Not obsessed. In fact, it is filthy at the moment from going to the stables and then being in the rain...:( but the neighbors probably think I am since I wash her every weekend.

Hello. All we work on at my shop is Corvettes. All years, probably 150 to 200 cars a year, I can tell you that corvette owners differ a lot over the years, Early car owners, Lets say 53 to 67 they are mostly Obsessed with there cars, But not all . The later years car owners 1968 up. These owners are more passionate about there cars and love to Drive them, Make them faster, Make them there own! Where the early car owners love to Wax them. " But I'm not saying there's any thing wrong with that"

Truthfully... sometimes yes, most of the time no. I'm obsessed right after I wash it and the paint and wheels look nice and shiney. Not obsessed when its dusty or dirty.

I am to a certain point. I will wash it every week and try and keep the entire car inside and out clean all the time. With my other cars I really never got that into cleaning them. Gotta love the Vettes!!

The wife says I am…so I wrote her a song entitled
“I love you more than my Corvette”
It didn’t work as she still thinks I am obsessed with it.
Oh well…she is never wrong you know…so I guess I am.

You mean like flaming? Or is this just a standard question? Yes I am, I am a member of 3 corvette forums. Got booted from one for no reason, not going to say the name, lets just say it starts with D and second word starts with C. And the owner is a weirdo, not a true enthusiast just looking to make a quick buck.

Don't think I'm obsessed...I do like to keep it as clean and perfect as possible. Clean is tough with a daily driver, so it gets washed a lot!

I found if you get obsesed over your car or anything you enjoy it will tend to be more work than fun and after all that is why you got the car to begin with isn't it?

Ever since I bought the Vette, well maybe a good two years before I constantly read, eat, sleep Vette. My wife sometimes tells me to give it a rest. But she doesn't complain when we are out cruising with the top off. Just can't help it, anything Vette makes me :drool5: Just got to be happy:cheers:

I can't say that I'm obsessed with my last 2 vettes, but I take great care of them and always keep them covered and garaged. I would probably flip out if it got damaged or scratched but it's only a car. My wife and kid would always come first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:willy_nilly: :willy_nilly:   :willy_nilly:

I Would Like Just To Go A Little Wider At The Rear Without Changing The Body.
Was Thinking As The Standard Width Now Is 275 But More To The Inside, Just A Fraction More Out? Or Can I Put Say A 305 Width Tyre On The Same Standard Rim?

My wife and kids both think I'm nuts for spending so much time, money and effort on my Vette's.
Quote "You paid how much for to change 2 perfectly good lights?" (regular rears to led).

What makes it worse is the Fedex man always comes around
while I,m at work and with the parcels opened by customs.

I am known in Fedex as the guy with the corvettes.

So it's my day off and pretty quiet. I'm in the bathroom, door closed, and giving them a real good rubbing.
It was hard work and a lot of grunting going on. Seemed to take for ever to get anywhere, I'm sure you've all been there.

After about 10 minutes of this wifey barges in to see what's going on!

Q. "What is that and why are you scrubbing it with my toothbrush?"

A. "My fuel rail cover and I,m not so stupid as to use my own
toothbrush".

Not the right answer I'm afraid. I was kidding as there were plenty more new toothbrushes.

Obsessed? possibly.

I know how you feel, I'm 60 and change. So how many times have you been referred to as that old fart that drives the corvette? I cannot say I'm obsessed about my corvette cause I drive it every chance I get. You gotta agree, these babies weren't born to obsess over, they are here to drive, period. I say we gotta quit wasting a nice afternoon polishing and cleaning and get out on that
roadway and let them horses run.
