I would like to clean my Black wing as I believe it has to be very dirty. I drive the car year round when weather permits. Whats the best way to clean this thing? Whats a good sign that the filter needs to be replaced?

Soup and water and let fully dry before putting back in the car.

:iagree: but I would try soap. Soup is a bit sticky and messy. And it tends to harden and not allow air through the filter :D However using the filter to strain the soup is a good idea.

Just playin' with ya a little 1SickZ (That avatar is still to distracting!):D

See what happens when you use spell check? Actually I read right over it and didn't catch it!
:thud:

Isn't the Donaldson an oiled filter? I thought that blue color was the oil...

Soup and water is the winner. Ok Soap and water, hell looking at 1sickz's avatar I can see why he was distracted!

Thanks everyone.

Oh... How often do these filters need to be replaced?

In theory and in most applications with good maintenance, never...

Whats so funny is I was typing a message to order me "Soup" for a lunch order. Rather I typed "Soap" to my lunch order and "Soup" on this post! :smack:

I just got my first Corvette and was wondering how do you like the Black Wing? I have a limited budget and want to make the right purchases with no regrets. For the money is the Black Wing a good buy?
