Is there a regiment for using seafoam in your engine or is this a once in a long while thing? I have not done this yet, but I will probably this week coming up as I have heard alot of good things about using this product.
I am sure that there is a point where too much is bad so just seeing if there was a certain amount of times to use it, or a time period.
Nice forum BTW

For me it's a 'never' thing.
Seafoam=snake oil.
If you think that you need sea foam, or MM oil, Restore, Slick 50, or any one of a number of other "fix-it-in-a-bottle" remedy's...you have other problems that are actually scientifically explainable.

Seafoam and Techron are probably the most popular fuel additives though sometimes a temporary fix. They acutally do keep the engine clean, but then again it depends on so many other factors. ie...high mileage engines, Quality of gas....most have low detergent levels accept for the top tier gasolines, conditon of fuel injectors, stop and go driving, etc. If you have dirt in your fuel when you use these "cleaners" it just flushes the dirt and debris through the lines and right into the filter of the fuel injector.
Our company specializes in "off car" fuel injector cleaning and rebuilding, in our opinion that is the best way and most efficient and reliable way to clean injectors......we actually carry Seafom. We have received a lot of positive feedback on it, but again it certainly is not the "cure all".
By the way, the answer to your question is that if you are going to use Seafoam, for peak performance it is recommended every 2,000 to 5,000 miles.

I use SeaFoam every 50,000 miles; I've used it on my GF's Jeep, my old BMW beater car, and my Supercharged Corvette. They all seem to run better after the treatment. On the Jeep, it cured a misfire that was throwing codes; that car probably had partially clogged injectors.

If you do oil changes on a normal basis, there is no need to put it in your oil. But I do use it to clean my injectors, intake, valves, & pistons. I have the injector cleaning tool to hook it up to the fuel rail & an a adapter to mist it into the throttle body. Follow the directions on the can as there are ratios when using it.

I have used it once and it did make a difference, but that was a long time ago and have not used it since. I don't think that there is a "regimen" for it but some people do use it religously.
