Hey All, Question; Has anyone experienced the loss of Clear-Coat on your Vette? My Black ZO6 Vette looks like CRAP after several "Details". Any help to restore the original luster would be greatly appreciated! I've been thinking about a whole new paint job but will explore any possibility before shelling out the bucks... Thanks in advance! Red Horse...

Is the clear coat actually gone or is it just oxidized ? If it is oxidation and swirls, you should have someone do an actual detail on the car and have it buffed and polished. If it is severely damaged, you could have it color sanded at a body shop.

Just find someone reputable and let them give you their opinon on it.

the problem might be that you ve had it detailed too many times and depending on what grades of compounds or polishes were used , you might not have much clear coat left .

Try clay bar I know it will work, and you wont believe the results, It will feel and look better than when it was new. It is a little time consuming but, it is very easy and very safe.

How about posting a close up, in focus picture of what you're talking about? You ain't gonna get anything but guesses until you do.

I'm telling you, clay bar it first., You won't believe it. It will cost you about $19.00 and will take about 3 to 4 hours. Best money you ever spent.:Banane08:

I agree with Junkman, post up a pic or two so we all can see what you're working with and from there an educated answer can be given!:patriot:
